Reasons for choosing the GFCC′ face:

1. It's the PD-1 contact face, so blocking it is functionally meaningful
2. Sufficiently solvent-exposed
3. Not masked by glycans (N35, etc.)
4. Human/mouse contact residues are mostly conserved, so cross-reactivity is plausible

Avoided the flat, hydrophilic back face — binders don't attach well there.
